Following a perfect season in the National Premier Soccer League regular season, Cosmos B continued their great form, beating Elm City Express in the North Atlantic Semi-Final.

Despite the final result, Elm City were the first to break the deadlock, finding the back of the net in the 14th minute. Following a shot sent in from the top of the eighteen yard box hitting the post, Tyler Carlos of Elm City slotted the ball into the empty net, giving the visitors an early lead.

Being down is something the Cosmos haven’t experienced much this season, and it showed as the boys in green continuously attempted to find an equalizer following Carlos’ goal.

It took until just the 29th minute for the hosts to level the game at one a piece, thanks to prominent goalscorer, Bledi Bardic. Following a cross in from Barrajo, Bardic got on the end of the ball, taking a touch past a defender and scoring his 10th goal of the year.

This was just the start from the 26 year-old as he found his brace in the 40th minute. A cross sent in from Brown on the right side of the field made its way to Bardic at the back post, allowing the striker to take a pair of touches and fire into the top corner of the net.

It appeared that Cosmos B would be heading into the break with the lead until Elm City were awarded a free-kick in the 45th minute. It was Tyler Carlos who stepped up to the stepped up to the set piece, curling his shot around the wall and into the back of the net.

Although the second 45 was full of chanced to find the game’s fifth goal, none were successful, making this conference semi-final extend to extra time.

It took until the 110th minute for the winning goal to be scored, Wojtek Wojcik providing. Similarly to the team’s second goal, a cross was sent in, this time from the left and by Neeskens, finding Wojcik in the middle of the box. The #12 rose to the ball with ease and redirected it into the right side of the net.

It wasn’t over for Cosmos B as the side aimed to find an insurance goal. After captain, Danny Szetela, was sent down the line in the 112th minute. The midfielder held the ball up once he got into the eighteen, finding Zaire Bartley at the top of the box. Bartley wasted no time, firing his shot into the bottom right of the goal on the first time.

With this victory Carlos Mendes’ men move on to the North Atlantic Conference Final where they will take on the Brooklyn Italians on Saturday, July 14, at 7:30 p.m.
