In the opening match of the 2017 NASL Fall Season, the New York Cosmos will host Spring Season champions Miami FC at MCU Park.

These two clubs have gone head to head three times this season, one in New York and the other two in Florida. When they played in Brooklyn, the visitors had their way with the boys in green, shutting them out 3-0. The following week in Miami, the Cosmos got their way. Goals from Danny Szetela and Ayoze helped the Cosmos surpass the eventual Spring Season champs. Miami settled the series when they faced in June, topping the Cosmos 2-1.

Who to Watch

For the Cosmos, midfielder Emmanuel Ledesma is one to keep an eye on. The Argentine leads the team in goals, finding the back of the net on five occasions.

Juan Arango is another player that has the ability to affect this game. The Venezuelan rejoined the team this week, and has the ability to win games for the Cosmos, if he is available to play. The 2016 NASL Golden Ball winner joins from Zulia FC after leaving the Cosmos in January.

For Miami FC, Vincenzo Rennella is a serious threat to any defense. With ten goals and five assists, the forward leads his team in both categories.

In addition to Rennella, Stefano Pinho has also proven to be one to watch in NASL play. The winger has knocked in eight goals so far this season, two of them being against the Cosmos.

You can catch this Fall Season clash, Saturday July 29th at 7pm at MCU Park or on MSG Networks.
