In the three games played between the New York Cosmos and Indy Eleven this NASL campaign, the boys in green have yet to gain all three points.

The first match between the two clubs hosted at MCU Park, saw the visitors take a first half lead courtesy of Ben Speas. The Brooklyn Boys were able to gain a point from the match, equalizing late via a Emmanuel Ledesma penalty kick in the 86th minute.

Just a week later the two sides faced again, this time in Indiana. Don Smart opened the games scoring in the 17th minute from the penalty spot only to see his goal equalized ten minutes later by Emmanuel Ledesma. The hosts grabbed all three points from the game when Justin Braun found the back of the net in the 75th minute.

It was back in Brooklyn for the third match, this time being Fall Season play. Indy midfielder, Gerardo Torrado, found two quick goals, giving his side a decent cushion by the 14th minute. A Dejan Jaković header pulled one back for the hosts prior to the halftime whistle. Pablo Vranjican found the scoresheet in the 50th minute, however Indy took the lead again just three minutes later courtesy of Éamon Zayed. The 84th minute saw Javi Márquez find the sixth and final goal of the game, putting an end to the exciting 90 minutes.

The New York Cosmos are currently coming off an important victory on Sunday. Puerto Rico FC gave the boys in green a good game however they couldn’t stop midfielder, Javi Márquez from finding the games winning goal in the 73rd minute.

Just like their upcoming opponents, Indy Eleven are also coming off a victory over PRFC. Éamon Zayed opened the scoring in the 37th minute, finishing off a deflected shot. Zayed found his 9th goal of the season in the 62nd minute, doubling his team’s lead heading in a cross. The 88th minute saw the Caribbean side pull one back from the penalty spot, however Giuseppe Gentile’s spot kick wasn’t enough for the visitors.

Who To Watch

For the hosts, forward Éamon Zayed is one who has proven his goal scoring abilities. The 34 year-old leads his team in goals, including the brace midweek.

Midfielder, Javi Márquez is one to watch for the Cosmos in this one. The Spaniard won the boys in green three points on Sunday with his 5th goal of the season, ranking second in that category for the boys in green.
