In the second game of the 2017 NASL Fall Season, the New York Cosmos travel to California to take on San Francisco Deltas for the third time this season.

The first time these clubs faced was on April 29th in San Francisco. The Deltas controlled the game for the first 45 minutes of the game however they weren’t rewarded for their efforts. A 69th minute chip from Emmanuel Ledesma saw the boys in green leave the Bay Area with all three points.

The end of May saw the two teams go head to head again, this time in Brooklyn. Unlike the previous matchup, neither side were able to find the back of the net, settling with a scoreless draw.

To begin their first ever Fall Season campaign, the San Francisco Deltas earned a point, drawing Jacksonville Armada 1-1. The hosts got on the board first in the 35th minute via a Jack Blake penalty kick, but was eventually cancelled out by Danny Cruz in the 58th minute.

An impressive 3-1 victory over Miami FC was how the boys in green began their Fall Season. Two goals from Eric Calvillo and one from debutant Kobi Moyal helped the Cosmos beat the Spring Season champions.

Who to Watch

Starting with the Cosmos, 19 year-old Eric Calvillo is one to keep an eye on. The midfielder has found the back of the net on the last three occasions, including the Cosmos’ 2-0 victory over Valencia CF.

For the Deltas, forward Tommy Heinemann is one to watch. The 30 year-old has proven to leave his mark against the Cosmos during his time with the Tampa Bay Rowdies and Ottawa Fury and now leads the Deltas with five goals.
